Location: On-Site

 

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8-hour Day Shift

 

Wage: $39.16 - 47.86 per hour, depending on experience

The Employee Relationships Specialist actualizes our values of respect, teamwork, accountability, and determination through building proactive relationships, identifying and resolving conflict, and designing conflict responses that support individual and team development. This role is instrumental in establishing and practicing restorative justice models for growing from conflict. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: 

 

  • Supports a safe work environment by advancing IDEA goals, soliciting feedback from employees, looking into concerns, and resolving conflict in a productive fashion. 
  • Recommends conflict resolution practices that support equity and inclusivity goals. 
  • Presents conflict resolution recommendations to the people team to identify an equitable outcome for employee conflicts that supports organizational values. 
  • Meets regularly with managers and supervisors to understand their needs and department goals. 
  • Collaborates with managers on employee inquiries, development opportunities, and disagreements. 
  • Collaborates with managers to resolve conflict by interviewing employees, documenting findings, mediating discussions, individual coaching, and designing individual development plans. 
  • Researches and integrates restorative justice models into how we resolve conflict. 
  • In collaboration with others, creates and maintains employee feedback loops including stay interviews, exit interviews, employee surveys, and focus groups. 
  • Completes employee terminations, documents feedback & coaching 
  • Assesses conflict trends including potential biases in resolution and analyzes retention trends to propose and implement mitigations including training programs. 
  • Prepares regular reports assessing trends within employee relations and retention with particular care taken to identify and understand bias in the decision-making process. 
  • Regularly holds meetings with department stakeholders to review trends and offer corrective action. 
  • Prepares and analyzes exit survey and interview data to identify areas of improvement. 
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality. 
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.  
  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).  
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.  

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position will report to the Employee Relationships Manager. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

  • Ability to research using resources and vendors to give guidance to HR around legal topics  
  • Knowledge of US and OR employment law. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict with all levels of employees. 
  • Knowledge of HR trends and best practices and ability to share knowledge. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. 
  • Adaptability to changing priorities. 
  • Demonstrated communication skills utilized to provide excellent customer service. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate on cross-functional projects and teams. 
  • Adept at finding simple solutions to complex problems. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Possess strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:  

  • 2 or more years of employee relations experience AND 
  • A bachelor's degree in a business discipline OR 
  • Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.  
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. 

 

Physical Demands:   

  • Position requires the ability to sit for up to approximately two hours at a time and retrieve information and documents from department staff within and outside the office area.  
  • May be required to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.  

 

Work Environment:  

  • The primary work environment for this position is within an office setting. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position.  
  • On-site work is required 2-3 days per week unless proactively agreed upon for a temporary period.
