Shift:  Flexible schedule, including Weekends

Wage: Starts at base of $18.00/Hr + tips

Position Overview:  The Dishwasher is responsible for keeping dishes clean and ready for Bob’s Red Mill customers, keeping tables clear and cleaned, keeping the kitchen clean and ready for next day’s business.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Washes dishes using a commercial dishwasher.
  • Puts clean dishes and utensils away in their proper locations.
  • Clears, cleans, and prepares dining areas.
  • Takes out garbage and recycles at prescribed times.
  • Keeps kitchen, walk-in, and pit areas clean and assist with putting deliveries away.
  • Maintains sanitation standards by sanitizing prep areas before and after use and makes sure that all critical equipment is kept clean.
  • Sets up and stocks stations with necessary supplies, continues to restock supplies for line cooks throughout the day.
  • Ensure food and merchandise is properly stocked, labeled, and rotated in workstations and throughout the kitchen.
  • Must remain friendly and service-oriented, even during times of long lines and high traffic.
  • Ensures a clean, organized, safe, and respectful environment for guests and employees.
  • Confronts and resolves difficult situations in a proactive, objective, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals, groups, peers, management, and the general public.
  • Maintains food knowledge on all Bob’s Red Mill offerings and confidently and accurately communicates that knowledge to customers.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). 
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager. 
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.
  • This position reports to the General Manager and Restaurant Supervisor.

  • Knowledge of safe food-handling procedures, sanitary cooking conditions, and proper hand-washing techniques.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, AND
  • High School diploma or equivalent; OR
  • Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a food handler’s card.

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Position regularly requires walking or standing for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Position regularly requires working around high temperatures.
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequently will be required to bend, kneel, or crouch.

Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment for this position is within a large commercial kitchen utilizing a commercial dishwasher.
  • While indoors, may encounter temperatures from 32°F within a cooler to 425°F around cooking equipment.
  • Exposure to heat and high humidity around dishwasher.
  • While outdoors, may encounter varied temperatures and weather while clearing and cleaning tables.
  • Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
