Location:  On-site

Shift:  Flexible schedule - includes weekends

Wage: Starts at base of $18.00/Hr

Position Overview: The Retail Sales Associate is an ambassador of the Bob’s Red Mill Whole Grain Store by sharing production knowledge, building relationships, and elevating service.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Shares product knowledge enthusiastically and accurately to elevate service and increase sales.
  • Operates cash register with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stocks shelves and ensures proper merchandise rotation.
  • Ensures merchandise is properly tagged, stickered, and displayed.
  • Provides friendly and engaging customer service.
  • Confronts and resolves difficult situations in a proactive, objective, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals, groups, peers, management, and the general public.
  • Ensures a clean, organized, safe, and respectful environment for guests and employees.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.
  • This position reports to the Retail Supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in customer service, AND
  • High school diploma or equivalent; OR
  • Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Position requires continued walking or standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Position requires the ability to bend, squat, reach, pull, grasp, lift, carry, and climb frequently.
  • Position frequently requires the ability to lift products weighing up to 50 pounds up and down ladders and from ground level to various levels of racking.
  • Must be able to use stairs, step stool, and tower ladders.

 

Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment for this position is within the store. A small percentage of the time may be outdoors where temperatures vary.
  • Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
