Job Title:Pricing Analyst

Department: Finance 

Location: Hybrid - Milwaukie, OR 

Shift: Day, Monday - Friday 

Wage:  $81,450 - $90,500 per year, depending on experience

Position Overview: The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and maintaining competitive pricing strategies to ensure the company’s pricing is aligned with market conditions and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducts thorough research on market trends, competitor pricing, and product positioning to inform strategic pricing decisions and evaluate effectiveness of current strategies.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and managing pricing strategies for new and existing products, ensuring alignment with financial goals and market conditions.
  • Creates and maintains a database of key products for competitor pricing.
  • Monitors and evaluates product margin ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Analyzes large datasets related to sales performance, cost structure, and customer demand to evaluate pricing effectiveness and recommend adjustments when necessary.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Information Technology, Supply Chain, and others.
  • Maintains and updates pricing for customers, including custom pricing models and discount structures based on volume, contracts, or special agreements.
  • Assists in collaboration with Operations to assess the impact of raw material costs, labor, and overhead on product pricing, ensuring that pricing strategies accommodate cost fluctuations.
  • Prepares reports on pricing performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement for products and customer channels.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager. 
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None
  • This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of pricing, finance, or data analysis experience, AND
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related business field; OR
  • Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience pricing with large brick and mortar chains, as well as e-commerce preferred.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industry preferred.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and supporting software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Proficient in using Prophix or similar programs.

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Position requires the ability to sit for up to approximately 2 hours at a time.

 

Work Environment:

  • The primary environment for this position is in an office setting or remote. There are no adverse conditions associated with this environment.
  • This position may occasionally spend a small amount of time within the production and warehouse areas of the facility.
  • Remote work may be available as an option.
  • Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
